Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi Ian, sadly, it doesn't surprise me that the faults VW installed weren't detected by your vw service centre. It makes you wonder how many other dealerships are as negligent. My guess would be most !

VW Australia probably already had a suspicion that particular garage delivered poor service.

Yes I read that one yesterday pretty shameful conduct from the dealer . I know who you probably went to as they have the whole Gold Coast Tweed VW area under one banner .

The problem today is that if they can't fix it with their laptop it doesn't get fixed at all , by the way their not mechanics any more they are technicians what a crock !

Ive just moved to the Gold Coast from Penrith .so you know who it was ,
After the report reached the dealer ,he rang and apoligised for the poor service to my car and offered me the 3rd service free ,
But as i was already moving to the Gold Coast i asked him if it could be transfered
Im afraid they were not prepared to do that as they only owe francises in NSW

I just got an email from Nepean motors reminding me that my next servive will soon be due November and if i wish to have my car serviced there in future it will now be every 6 months or 10,000km I WROTE THEM A LETTER IN RETURN

                  To the Nepean motor group
As you may recall the last service I had with you wasn't as the Service was
                  Out lined
VW Australia used my vehicle to test your service quality and found it sadly lacking
6 faults were installed in my car and you never found one ,
Your manager rang me and apologized for the lack of care in the servicing
Of my vehicle and offered me the next service free of charge .
But I have relocated to the Gold Coast ,so I guess that will not be honored?
If you read the motoring section in the Saturdays paper ,I had written an article about the servicing of my car ,please read it
                  Thanks
                  Ian Sutton

Was there any reason given why they tried to shift servicing to a 6 months/10,000km basis? Sounds like they thought they could recover some costs from you following the free service.

I think I remember your original free service thread ... nice work and thanks for the heads up on which ****ty dealer it was !

Although not unexpected, not picking up on any of the 6 faults should get the staff that worked on your car to be warned.

Do you know what the 6 faults were ?

Sorry Ian I assumed the bad service was done at the Gold Coast , so I apologise if anyone thinks it was the dealer who does own all the Gold Coast VW dealerships right down even to Lismore .

                            Hilarious.

That crap about the service interval is even funnier.

Yes they are prepared to extend the warranty if your prepared to pay for two services a year
So you are in fact paying for the extended warranty your self so instead of paying $440 a year
                              You'd be paying $880.
I don't think so. I hardly drive the Tiguan in 2.5 years It's only done. 15,000 km
So I'd be getting the car serviced every 3,000 km.
