Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi guys,

I am in Europe for 10 days in beginning of April.
I have hired a car, as all we really want to do is see as much of the countryside and small stops as we can squeeze in. And I cant stand public transport......control issues

Any suggestions of quick stops, or activities we could do within 1 day would be great......btw, I am travelling with my 2 kids, 15yr old girl and 5yr old boy.

    This is my route below.
    1. Paris
    2. Nurburgring (doubtful I will get on track, as I dont want to leave the kids to fend for themselves)
    3. Stuttgart (Porsch or Merc museum - not enough time for both)
    4. Zurich
    5. Monaco (probably staying in Cannes or Nice)
    6. Lyon
    7. Paris

    Cheers,
    Hog

Wow, you're packing a lot in for 10 days judging from your route.

1981 Honda Civic hatch. Proper AUTO REVERSE cassette player. AM/FM with Stereo speakers. Four (yep, FOUR!) speed manual. Full cloth trim seats. HALOGEN lightbulbs! Factory options fitted: rear wipers and washer, "Go Fast" wheel covers & electric front windows.

Yeah, I know. I am concerned about this as well, but everyone has told me the drives are not as bad as the distance suggests.
We are not planning on actually being anywhere at any certain times, so I figured just seeing the countryside will be experience enough.
The way I've laid it out, it is 2-3 hrs driving each day except Zurich and Monaco, where we stay 2 nights each.

It just sux that my musts are the 'Ring, and Monaco lol....
