Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • I think we should be mindful of the personal attacks, and just stick to the conspiracy theories and tinfoil hats.

      • VW Oz at odds with other countries over dieselgate

I dont understand why the Australian VW business is blindly stating in court they did nothing wrong, and it appears from this media article, that their lawyers are at odds with their own clients media release on whether cars breached emissions standards here....

        • I think it's all BS.

VW were asked to pass a test. They passed it. End of story. The world needs to move on.

Maybe it’s time to close this thread to help them to move on.

                • Shh, if the Ranger isn't around I reckon we could tackle this in a diesel VW.

                  • A diesel Ford Ranger would not be allowed that far off-road (they could set fire to the National Park):

They didn't cheat. They passed the test. Unless you're conducting the test on real roads in real traffic in real world conditions the test is useless.

"You have to meet these requirements on a dyno"

                      "OK"

                      *requirements met*

Passed. End of story. Time to move on.

                        • I just get the giggles every time I think about Mazda engineering the BT-50/Ranger diesel 4WD ute without the ability to take it off-road . . . it like when I see the 4WD-ers who insist on carrying their bright orange recovery boards on their 4WD around town without a single spec of dust, dent or vegetation scratch on the paintwork on it. I guess some of the potholes can get a bit big around town after the storms

                          • If you really don't have much faith in the VW product, perhaps sell it and move on?

We're here because we're all VW enthusiasts. Bashing the brand isn't going to make you very popular on here at all.

                            • I wish I was a Judge! There wouldn't be all these soft leftist BS sentences that's for sure!

I would prefer surgery on me to be carried out with AR assisting. Bring on the surgeon that uses Google glasses (or equiv. tech) I say!

                              • No judgements have been handed down in Australia.

And ford ranger was not highest selling 4wd in Aus last year - that was Toyota hilux (as per usual for the last several years).

There is one particular member here who just seems to want to troll. Time for them to move on perhaps?
