  • VAGCOM assistance required - Western Sydney

Not sure if this is most appropriate place to ask but here goes....

The airbag light on my MK5 Jetta has recently came on after I disconnected and reconnected my battery. From what I have read it can only be reset via VAGCOM.

Are there any fellow dubbers in Penrith area who may be able assist?

I am also looking to switch on DRL function at same time if possible (using factory fogs - dimmed)

Happy to pay a small fee if required.

Please PM me if you can assist. Cheers

I'll be visiting the Camden area this saturday afternoon if you want to meet at a shopping center or something. I have VCDS and laptop. Shoot me a PM if you think that might suit you.

Thanks for the offer Lucas, but after a bit more research I found an App called Carista, which should do exactly what I want without having to rely on VAGCOM. More info here if anyone else is intersted.... Supported Vehicles | Carista OBD2 - Vehicle Diagnostics and Customization.

Will report back here with results once the bluetooth OBD2 adapter that I ordered from ebay arrives.

Airbag fault cleared and light now off. Fog lights as DRL activated (parker lights also stay on - but fog and parkers go off when headlights turn on).

Who would have thought u could do this wirelessly via bluetooth and smart phone!

This is the OBD2 adapter I used
