  • Opinions on Ratty/Euro Look

I've been looking at inspirations and stuff as I want to do something different to my car.
What is everyones opinions on the ratty euro look so rusty, no fks given look?
What's your opinion on the fresh fitment with roof racks or something euro looking style?
Keen for people to give me what they aim for in their car, as I am looking around for inspiration but don't want to go in the wrong direction, even when people say "oh it's your own car"
    Cheers

personally i think the ratty look was 10 years ago.
'fitment' is over rated if its not on point.
clean and oem/oem+ looking is probably the in thing in mind.

    but thats just me

How far are you going? Mad Max style? because that look awesome (but has to be drivable on the street right?).
Dylan is right, that ratty look has come and gone, but if you take it at a new angle then maybe it could work?

          This.
The rat/rust look is done and has died.

Clean/smooth OEM+ is where the scene is now.

Personally i would be embarrassed to drive a rusty/ratty looking car - its so "try hard" and looks ridiculous.

            Fitment looks ridiculous too.

Nothing beats a well maintained vehicle, with a dent free body, nice and shiny paintwork, no stickers and minimal badging, with a nice set of rims and lowering.

Check out the mak3 appreciation thread... plenty of inspiration there.

If it's ratty to start with, fix the mechanicals up and leave the bodywork alone.

Battlescars and tired paintwork the car has 'earned' over the years, looks way better than paint-stripped panels with sheets of tin pop-rivetted to them.

oh the care is ratty to start with, I guess that's what happens when you buy previously owned grandma cars. With peely paint and heaps of dints I think it's too far fetched to restore to a "clean and shiny" car, but I've got a car full of spare parts and heaps of time, just looking for direction. Thanks all for your contributions.
