  • What would you buy...

    Hi everyone,

For last 5 year i used to drive my passat sedan (crd 125kw). All service done by VW Burwin (best service ever). Yes, i am very happy with that car but time come and now i have to change it.
    My choices:

    1) 2012 Volkswagen CC 125TDI Type 3CC Auto MY13 51.000KM - $36.888
    2) 2013 Volkswagen Passat 130TDI Highline Type 3C Auto MY14 35.000 KM - $29.000
    3)2011 Mercedes-Benz C250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Avantgarde Auto MY11 48.000KM - 39.250

I can not decide what ...I am open for any suggestions. Just do not offer me japanese car
Passat and cc are essentially same car. Never drove cc before (except test drive). Mercedes is totally different class and huge difference in comfort and drive ability...but i found them very expensive comparing vw.
Note: i prefer only diesel car and never buy brand new car.

My previous car was a 2013 c220 CDI and that was one of the best cars I've ever owned if you need a comfy motorway cruiser, before that I had a 2006 passat tdi170 which i had to sell due to the seats giving me a bad back.

I know this is a VW forum but you can't go wrong with the c250.

Perhaps you should also check out Audi A6 - the 3.0 TDI quattro.

        heres an example:

Pretty much with the others but we have a CLA and an E Class... That 250CDI is a cracking motor, even in the E

Quite a bit smaller though, if that is a consideration

How long will you keep it,

true, haha! I was looking for 3.0l but obviously got distracted by the lovely S-line wheels!

I was thinking cost over life including servicing and more importantly depreciation

Benzes prices old fairly reasonable until they are 2 models old then they fall like stones just like everything else, you have about 6 years on the C class
Speciality service is very reasonable, and main dealers are not too bad for "standard servicing" but the cost of big services at main dealers is at least 50% more than the specialists, if not 100% (company car is done at main while private car is done at Lennox in Bulleen)

I beleive, same with vw as well. Independend service way cheaper but i stii servicing on dealer and i do not have issue with them. If you have european car you need to pay proper maintenance otherwise you will end paying much more...i know, not.all dealer same and also not all specialist service same...i spend lot time in search for good mechanic. Of course forums was weryyy helpfull.
Before i decided to change car i will do reserch regarding benz and vw as well.
