Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Inspection required (Berwick/ SE outer Melbourne)

    Hi all, not sure if this is the correct forum.Hope so.

    Wife has just purchased a Golf in Victoria (Berwick), subject to satisfactory inspection, and we need a VW mechanic to check the car out before everything is finalised.

    Is there someone close to Berwick who;d be willing to have a run through of car, next Saturday the 14th? Looking for DSG problems and a check to see if any major problems/collisions, etc. I am stationed overseas and unable to assist wife. She has no idea what to check and to be honest, I wouldn't either.

    Would appreciate any suggestions. Wife is going to pick up the car on Saturday and would drive to wherever the mechanic is. Ideally, it would be close to Berwick VW.

    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

    Also, should I purchase the CarFacts report? Might be unnecessary, given a dealer sale and we are hoping to get it checked out, anyway...?
