They're a niche vehicle so you expect it to take a while for the right buyer to come along

                  This is getting too funny.

Seems he had a kind of premature sellers remorse and bumped the price up again a few minutes later.

I still have this in my saved cars list, no idea why but I just received this from CarSales in email.

                      "
                      Dear Member,
We thought you’d like to know that interest in one of your saved cars is increasing. "

I must have set a new record when I sold the GTI in Feb. Asked $30k, sold it for $28.5k in one day.

Granted it was still under new car warranty and only had 22k. Could have got more but what is a $1k or so when i already had a bird in the hand.

Carsales have pretty accurate price guides (even an easy to understand graph) for car pricing once you place an ad.
It gives you a chance to put the crack pipe down and price it to sell it.

However... As car folk we know sometimes you may struggle to let a car go.
"Yeah I know.. I've got it advertised on carsales but it's just not selling babe..."

Out of curiosity I've stayed subscribed to this seller's car

A few weeks ago it went back up to $31,000 but this morning he dropped the price back to $30,000
