Shannons do provide a 'Race' coverage, but it's designed for actual competition events (like Targa Tasmania) being run under official CAMS rules rather than coverage for public track days and the like. I remember enquiring about it when I ran the Polo in the Dutton Rally a few years ago - the major issue is that the cost was so prohibitive that it wasn't worth the expense. They only cover to a maximum of $20K - enough for some basic panel damage but put a Targa car into the trees and you'll be up for a lot more than $20K to repair it anyway.

It's listed in their PDS on page 34 - http://www.shannons.com.au/library/d...urance_PDS.pdf.

If you're looking for 'track day' insurance to cover you for (quite common in the US and UK especially), I don't believe that's available through an Australian insurer.
