  • Who is your insurer for a modified car?

    Hi

Anyone have their Golf R with CAI and dumpipe insured with mods noted to their insurance company?

    Cheers
    Paul

I use Shannons for all my cars, including the Stage 3 R.

Absolutely no problems with any mods, all fully noted and agreed value adjusted to suit.

Youi placed a limit on further mods on my Polo GTi.. and they recently advised of a timeframe of 6 months no claim period for a new additional car policy. I think Youi are too harsh applying this sort of term, so I declined their offer and went with Coles. . I am thinking of going back to Shannons for car, house/contents.

I'm with Shannons and they say, with your next mod, give us a call and we will add it to the list
All mods I have noted will be replaced if damaged etc in an accident

+3 Shannons. Maybe not the cheapest policy but it does cover everything and it's an agreed value compared to most others being market value (=not enough to replace).

You get what you pay for and it's only when you go to make a claim that you find out how good/bad a policy/company you have signed up for.

Strangely enough NRMA. Didn't ask about mods so long as it was still roadworthy.

Do any insurance companies cover track days?

I don't think anyone will insure for Motorsport use.

Shannon's will cover for track use, although it's not something they really advertise.

I'm going to look into that. I just changed over to Shannons and the guy I talked to said they couldn't provide any cover. Might need to talk to someone else.

So, I rung Shannons again and they DO NOT provide cover for track use, unless its a 'Defensive Drivers course' with Driver training only and is advertised that way.
