Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I should be doing home work but iv been getting all nostalgic and looking at photos from '04 to '06 when I just lurked the forum. These were the days of dial up and I was more interested in skidding my BMX (hasnt changed much).

This is a call to all people on this forum if you see a Mk1 or Mk2 golf, passat, Jetta, Polo or early Audi. Save it in any way you can. Buy, trade or sell your sole to get it. If you cant afford it tell someone, get it for parts or at least just take a photo so we can all internet gossip. This is your assignment!

Also I know living the past and digging up etc is sometimes frowned upon but this is a call out to all old forum members to just chime and and say Gday. To all the newer members if you know an older member say hey jump on watercooled for a super happy fun reunion. You might not even own a VW anymore or are just a cool FB kid but say gday.

My favourite photo from this forum way back in the day from Tassie the home of Mk1 golfs.

Nice one James! I don't get on here as much as I used to. Mostly because I'm getting old, and dislike new cars! HAHA
The MK2 still sits in the garage at home and has it's monthly outing with my Dad.

Gee, good to see some members I haven't seen post for ages saying g'day.

Certainly brings back some memories of how things were on this forum some years back when I first joined. Great thread Water Boy

I remember first seeing Alex's VR6 at an OzHonda Brisbane cruise in 2007:

The first person I actually met into Vw's was Alex. It was back in 2008 at a cruise up to the North side of Brisbane for a meet + photo shoot at the train yards:

Other old school Brisbane people I'd like to call out are Chris, Maca, Tim Cox, Tim Gower, Steve, Jon, Joe, Jmac, Trent, Corey, and Carlos + others who I've probably forgotten:
