Hi, I knew Southern Claasic Cars has very very bad reputation and that's why I would like to go Sydney to jusy find myself a good dealership. Take a drive up the Appin Rd & try Campbelltown or Liverpool (which is also McGraths but it sounds like the Service Mgr is OK).
When you get your warranty issues out of the road then go to CVWC in Kiama
I know Peter from CVWC in Kiama. I always took my cars to him for service and all that. He's a good man and a true specialist of VW, AUDI, PORSCHE, SKODA, SEAT.

+1 for Wakelings VW in Campbelltown, we purchased our passat from them and they have an awesome sales and service dept. We avoided Southern Classic Cars after a few friends had bad experiences with them.2013 Passat tdi 130kw/380nm - Autumn Brown, Driver Assistance & Visibility Package, 12 way Power Seats, Adaptive Cruise Control, RVC, Auto Tailgate, Black Nappa.

Hi everyone,
I have got my car back now and I missed it.
After wasting 4 hours of waiting in North Shore VW, they have started checking my car at 12.30pm and I'm not allowed to watch them doing work on my car from outside of the workshop.
So here's what they say to me that they have scaned and re-programmed the whole thing and there's no faulty codes or errors from engine stop/start and dimming rear view mirror and all the other issues have been addressed. When they gave me the car, they showed me how things are going and everythingbis working good so far.
Then I drove away on the road and just realised that I haven't really checked through the whole car carefully myself. I parked my car and checked everything under the day light. **** happened! Fuel cap has been fixed BUT got few scratches around it. They're not standingout but visible. I'm so pissed off! Then I chrcked the car inside and out. Finger prints everywhere on windscreen, interior and the bonet of the car. However, I gave them a very clean car inside and out this morning and now they gave me back a 'marked' car. I'm not happy at all. So are you guys thinking that's it? NO. Let me tell you what's going on in the workshop.
I'm the only one sitting in the reception for the whole day and others are just sent to station by them. Therefore, I have seen something.
Mechanics are not looking after customers' cars. They floor the accelerator when taking off the vehicle and scrap the front bottom badly (very loud scraping sound caused by not applying brake) when exiting the workshop for test driving. On the way testing, they just accelerate as much as they can and brake as hard as they want to. They don't care. I don't know about other workshops or has anybody seen that happened somewhere else. I don't feel comfortable at all. what about you guys?
I have brought my car in at about 8.45am and they started working on my car at 12.30pm. Some people came at around 11.00am getting serviced before they did mine. They just could work on my cars very early but chose not to. I guess that's how it works when most customers brought their cars there and got ring to pick up cars very late. Feel deceived.
Well, so I decided not to bring my car their anymore. I just feel uncomfortable when seeing these.
Anyway, I have to keep driving my car for few days to see if it still comes up any wrong things.

Well, look, If they do the right things, I'm easily to be appeased because nobody wants to waste time on doing something useless and to find themselves troubles. In this case, will you accept they scratch your car when they're doing service on your brand new car? Yeah, I used to do that all the time when I was on the tools in the '80s. We had a polished workshop floor & used to have a competition as to who could do the best handbrake turn & line up with their hoist.Originally posted by gti mk4 View Post.

It was standard practice to give the car a boot full, bounce them off the fuel cut & clean them out a bit - 'cause the customers didn't do it. We'd also de-glaze the brakes with a few quick stops from 100kph, pump the tyres up to something unthinkable like 36psi so the car would handle better, scrub the tyres in a bit so the gripped better & make sure the car was up to taking a hammering.
We'd also try & down 3 or 4 schooners at lunchtime & the boss always bought us a carton of beer if we stayed back on overtime and we'd have a few beers while we finished off the days over-flow or got stuck into the long-term builds.
A mate & I used to follow each other around various workshops. Despite our shenanigans we always increased the customer base & the dollars going through the cash register.
I'm surprised you see it now because so many customers take umbridge at that type of thing these days.
I think I'd go insane working at a dealership these days with all the cry-babies. I'd probably be sacked in a week.
It's a shame they left fingerprints behind. Why not give them a fright & commit a murder in your car & they'll be prime suspects.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

I like the last one. well, without scratches, I would ignore the finer prints. I'm not too lazy. first, you have to love the workshop and make it clean and then you'll be able to work on cars in such a nice place. After that, you will take care of every single cars.
They're wrong at the beginning.
Well, I guess maybe Golf is not an expensive/luxury car at all and that's why they don't take care of my golf.

I forgot one thing that I have to tell all the mk7 owners about how basically 6 issues have been addressed from what they say.
1st issue: windscreen wipers- changed but haven't got a chance to test it. I will try it later on and see if it's really working.
2nd issue: engine stop/start system- scanned and couldn't find any errors and faults and ran through perfectly. Haven't tested either because that's not important.
3rd issue: left hand side mirror-re-programmed and now I have tested it and it's working good and shows the angle that I want.
instructions: 1st, let the car run. 2nd, turn the adjustment knob to 'L'. 3rd, Shift gear to 'R', mirror will turn down to where it is and you have to actually adjust it to where you really want it to be. 4th, shift back to 'P' and turn the adjustment knob to 'O' and you will see the mirror goes up to normal position when driving forward. 5th, double checking again by shifting gear to 'R' and see if mirror goes down to where you want it. if it works, that's it!
4th issue: left hand side front passenger side window goes down good suddenly when the car is there.-weird but it is ok now. Still a question how and why?
5th issue: fuel cap-adjusted and I don't know how but works now. wondering how and why?
6th issue: dimming rear view mirror-can't see any errors and faults and can't even test under day light. I will see.
The first time that I washed this car, I saw few yellow liquid stripes from right hand side door panel. ask them and said maybe grease mark from the door lock but I don't know whether it's true or not. Anyway, they polished it and it comes off...so I should be happy?
Alright, that's all the outcomes from today. at least they fix the problems so far. It means that car indeed had few problems and they know how to fix it because they're the problems from factory I guess? but I still have to say to them you know you have to change it and re-program it today and why just don't want to say or do it month ago. one more word-attitude

Hi everyone.
Unfortunately, After North Shore Volkswagen has addressed 6 issues for me, Now I got two major issues.
1st: Leaking coolant badly!
2nd: Autohold error message without using this function.
I don't know whether it's a common problem or just happened on mine!
Apparently, North Shore Volkswagen hasn't looked after my car and didn't do a full check on my car. That's unbelievable.
I strongly recommend that people please do not come to North Shore Volkswagen for service anymore! Food for Thought!
