The best thing is to not let things wind you up. So you have to move, or let some idiot in who zips down a lane that ends to queue jump. You get your "revenge" when you get to the next set of lights and find you are ahead of them once again.

Just because someone wants to zip around does not make them a good driver. Also, the "keep left unless overtaking" rule only applies to roads where the speed limit is in EXCESS of 80 km/h or if there are signs there. In urban settings where there are multi-lane roads, this does not apply for a couple of reasons. First is that the speed limit is 80 km/h or less, and secondly, a "keep left unless overtaking" would have to be posted after each intersection on the road.

The other evening, there was a learner driver going up the hill from Delhi Road to Fullers Road in Lane Cove. Unfortunately this was during the evening peak. Just ahead of him was someone on a bicycle. For those who don't know, this is reasonably steep and no additional room. The learner was very nervous and while there was JUST enough room to overtake the guy on the bike, the learner was not confident to do this and so stayed behind. A lot of drivers behind me got a bit hot under the collar for no real reason.

Everyone was a learner some time. Ok, so doing this during the evening peak was probably ill considered, but things like this do happen and even learners need to learn how to handle heavy traffic. There is no reason to get worked up because you have to drive according to whatever circumstances you find. You just have to hope that one day, you don't do exactly what you complain about.

The only one you can do anything about is YOU. Don't get too worked up about things you cannot do anything about.

I decked the last **** who crashed into me, so far nothing from the cops.
But seriously people do need to calm down. Driving can be stressful, so many rules and regulations to follow, and so many people flaunting them.

I live in Canberra too and think they are the worst in the country. I have lived in Wollongong and Sydney previously, and driven in other capital cities in the country.

The people who say Sydney or Melbourne drivers are worse have obviously never driven there.

Tailgating, zipping through traffic and slow cars on the right lane as someone mentioned is definitely related. The #2 spot on that survey was slow right lane traffic. I actually think those who voted slow right traffic are people who dangerously zip across Canberra roads.

I have been tailgated in Monaro Hwy during PEAK period driving 110kph while the limit was 100kph. Yes, I was speeding but was still being tailgated by someone who wanted to go faster.

              So what did he do?

He tailgated me, dangerously switched lanes, tailgated the left lane car, then zipped back in front of me only to tailgate the car in front. *Facepalm*

Tapping the brakes every 100m even though the road is clear, besides wearing out brake components, why?

People who don't get up to the speed limit on on ramps, making merging dangerous not only for themselves, but all of us behind them...

                      Bizzare isn't it?

I drove behind someone on the F3 doing that for 50 odd kms.

I don't do that - which is why I am sitting at 95,000kms on original pads and rotors.

My Audi used to do this with the cruise control on, it actually braked when it went 3-5 kmh over what you had set, and the brake lights came on

Crazy hey, this behaviour seems to be a result of their fear of driving. I have driven 100,000 plus on OEM front pads and they were still legal.

Orange has the most dangerous drivers i have encountered. I find drivers in the USA and elsewhere in Australia much better. Coming home today i had a 4wd go straight at a roundabout without slowing from a left turn lane and the same retard overtook me later across double lines when i was already just over the 50km limit. Unfortunataly the incar cams had the card full or i would have taken the footage to the llocal highway patrol.

The answer to that one could be summed up by demographics take a look at the predominate country of origin of drivers in Sunnybank .
