Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Sure but just to emphasise my point and your assumption about the NSW cops here is the design rule for all of Australia. So if a cop picks you up you can quote this I have only posted the part of Design Rule 35 that pertains to cars
AUSTRALIAN VEHICLE STANDARDS RULES - REG 35
Rear vision mirrors
(1) A rear vision mirror or mirrors must be fitted to a motor vehicle as required by this rule so that a driver of the vehicle can clearly see by reflection the road behind the vehicle and any following or overtaking vehicle.
(2) At least 1 rear vision mirror must be fitted to:
(a) a car; and
(4) A motor vehicle with a GVM not over 3.5 tonnes (except a motor vehicle mentioned in subrule (2) or (3)) must be fitted with:
(a) at least 1 rear vision mirror on the right side of the vehicle; and
(b) at least 1 rear vision mirror on the left side of the vehicle OR inside the vehicle.
So if you block your rear window and a cop nails you he would be wrong under that Rule as you don't have to have an inside mirror if you have external ones.
Not getting at you just posting the facts.
I have a friend who wrecked his interior mirror and got pulled up but didn't get fined because of this rule2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B
