Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • I had trouble with reflections and colour washout all day ... clear blue skies and so much reflection off of everything out there.

I was pretty happy with the results as it was the first time out with my new camera ... upgraded to a DSLR with a Canon EOS 500d.

for reducing reflections off of non metallic surfaces try a circular polarising filter. and if you haven't already got one, gram a UV filter too.

I took some time off to see family on the Northern NSW coast last week. This is Thursday morning's sunrise at Yamba.

                          • kit lens??havent used mine for ages, i mainly shoot with my sigma 10-20mm or my canon 50mm 1.8, between the two i can get a nice range from wide to tight, am always thinking of getting something tighter
