Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Then the vehicle didn't have time so slow to a speed where she would have needed to put the clutch it to stop your "violent shudder".

The thread is about DSG woes as reported in the media. She was driving a manual. So how is that related. In fact I think you do work for fairfax because that has been their tactic since day one. Start a new thread title 'who is at fault in......'!

He legitimately works for them. This thread is part of a grander plan to add fuel to the issue fire. It's genius in a way. destructive and stupid in another. He does own a VW. Makes him the perfect agent.

One thing I noticed though with my Golf if I stall it...you have to turn the key fully off to restart, which would likely lock the steering, would not be fun trying that on the move. In my previous Subaru, could simply crank and go without turning off or going to accessories, or, if on the move, clutch start it, which I suspect the Golf electronics wouldn't allow..
Violent was probably the wrong description - I was referring to that moment when it jitters, jitters, then, stop (normally moves your head) But compression stopping will (can) cause a hiccup in the drivetrain.

Umm, yeah, I hate the 'turn it off first' to restart bit (only stalled twice, but remember the process)
Steering wheel lock - not sure, i don't want to test it, but I thought it was when the key was out?
Pretty sure you can roll start a VW - just not if it has shut down the fuel pump and injector system (engine failure) - put it in 2nd, roll, dump clutch under normal circumstances, it'll start (think starter motor failure)

I'm hoping this coroner's report reveals more than just an issue with a vehicle - I'm thinking driving standards/road safety might get a jolt.

BTW - if we were to speculate that a person chose to ignore a fuel refill light (empty tank), and drove it down a freeway, thinking they'd press their luck because they were late for work, and it ran out of fuel - what would happen to the car without fuel? And would we blame the vehicle manufacturer?

I'm not dismissing the genuine issues that need addressing by VW, but until the report comes out, there may be many reasons/causes for the tragedy, and whilst I love to speculate, I'm not going to sit here and assume there was a fault with the car.

I posted fact, and you ignored/disagreed with it.so I gave up, your trolling worked.you can go to bed happy that your inane, ludicrous assertions upset a forum of normally decent bunch of people.

                        • To use a tragic accident still under an inquest to push ones own petty agenda is pretty depressing really.

What's wrong with you? You post this crap on vwvortex, TDIClub, Whirlpool etc etc. What drives you to do this?
The truck driver ran into Ms Ryans car hard enough to splatter it against a dividing wall.
Tell me... do you think the US Government was behind the collapse of Building 7 on 911? lol

A petty grudge because he didn't get his own way.

You'd thunk a grandfather would know better than to carry on like a petulant child.

I hope he doesn't teach his grandkids to exploit someone's tragic death for their own ego.
