Free rental car?

Hi guys, my car is still under new car warranty, but it is burning oil like petrol, doing my consumption test with the dealer,but I am afraid they might need to take a long time to fix the problem, does any one know if they will be giving me a free replacement car for me to use while fixing my car?

I think 30 years ago, before the internet, people used to do something called ringing the dealer.

Stupid question stupid answer. It ranges from dealer to dealer. Most will not though.

No need for attitude although you are correct, the OP should ring the dealer and ask to book the car in when they have a loan car available.

In my experience, if you book the car in with sufficient notice, the dealer WILL provide a loan car whilst the car is in for warranty work.

Not just that, but if you are a pleasant customer to dealers and give them a decent amount of notice the are usually more than happy to supply one to you, if your a total f***wit they will not bother.

Thanks guys. Last time they said they will take a look at my car to do a consumption test, I paid $44 for the rental car, but not sure if this time is repairing rather than " looking", they would charge me for the rental car?

Some places charge $$ per day for a car, other will do it for nix. Sometimes it's policy, sometimes it's attitude test... Ask nice and see what they say.

I'm gonna get flamed for this I know...
But from my own personal experience. With regards to dealers, loan cars and generally trying to make the customers life easier.

Varies from dealer to dealer, and customer to customer.

I have seen VW Australia provide cars off their own bat, under very particular circumstances. I suspect that this would not happen often.

Can get a loan car from our dealer but there is a charge per day to cover insurance I was told.

However last time when due to a machine breaking down I was given a loaner for two days free.

OP should ring his dealer No good asking for an answer on here We cant read the dealers mind.
