  • Got a new toy

Picked this up over the weekend:

    A very handy little toy

Truth be told I needed a new drill as the old one's batteries were shagged and the old NiMH replacements cost more than a new Lithium powered unit. I have had a pile of Bosch tools in the past but since the batteries are common on the "One" series from Ryobi I thought I'd give it a try. First impression of the drill is that it ****s all over the old one, but then it's a step up from a basic unit to a mid range unit that has a hammer function.

But for the important part, the Impact Wrench is awesome for whipping wheels on and off with ease On a side note, the guy in Bunnings told me the only place I could get a nylon sleeved impact socket so you don't scratch rims was from Snap-on... turns out it's a $9 part from Supercheap I'm not expecting the same quality as a snapon tool but then at $9 for the use I will give it I'm sure it's fine. I picked up both the 17mm and the 19mm so I can get the wheels off both the Van and the Golf if I ever want to.

Makes those little jobs that much easier:

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Sweet! And a good idea... So you can get a bit that has a half-inch socket attachment? Might have to get one of those $9 jobbies for the bloke at Pedders that scuffed up all the bolt holes on my wheels a few weeks ago... I have a similar one (Kincrome) That i got from Autobarn (i think), it was about $40!

Yep, all of $8.99 each. Blue for 17mm, gold for 19mm so you can tell them apart at a glance too

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.
