lolfest. only reason I dont spend too much time on vwgolf.net.au is because they've got little to nothing happening in the mk3 and older sections.

That's pretty much it. I'm across lots of different forums and there are groups of people on each who are very friendly same as their are aggressive people etc etc. You take the good, you take the bad and there you have... wait... well you get the idea

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

What a laugh, id have to agree with Dylan that the same members who are on both sites act the same on both in fact watercooled is a lot more helpful and covers all models not just the newer ones.

VWW was started by a guy who ran a dairy farm in NW Tassie to share with other MK1 enthusiasts knowledge and parts as he had a GLD.

golf.net was set up by a pair of serial forum builders who establish internet real-estate gain a great deal of sponsorship and advertising before moving on to the next start up.

Which is better - well that really comes down to personal preference. I used to cross-post on golf.net but no one really cared that I was pouring money into a 1970's Golf so I decided it wasn't worth the effort just to help increase their traffic.

On the whole I am a bit tired of forums and prefer to hang out in person these days.

I like VWW because I'm a car enthusiast and am interested in all types of cars and modifications, not just a narrow selection. I've found the VWW very friendly (of course there are one or two, but they never seem to hang around long...).
