god, wouldn't know where to start, lots of things done in the last 5+ years
must be over $10k in wheels and rubber at my house right now though.
plus all the mk3 gear/cars that iv been collecting the past 6months.
bit sad for a super slow, stock looking car that now is worth like $5k
Nice !!! Please excuse my ignorance but what year is she?

Not much on my Golf. Been there done that.
In the late 90s I had spent 30K on a lancer.
Sure I loved it and it munched everthing, whilst being a sleeper but when you can't insure it for what it's worth, then I just can't make sense of it.
Actually, come to think of it, I spent huge on everything up until then but things have changed dramatically since.
Our daily "to the station car", cost a massive $400.
My Charger owes me very little for what she's worth.
RX7, have spent in total what she's insured for.. maybe a little more.
Mini, will be also close to what she's insured for.. when finished.
With the Golf, am happy to spend on little things like; N75, TIP and CAI etc but just can't justify a K04 & retune etc.
The reason is simple, that's not what I bought the car for. Is supposed to be a daily after all and I'm an old fart.
The other reason is MY WIFE WOULD LITERALLY KILL ME!!!

Reason: fn laptop mouse that hates me
$3000
and that just got me wheels, suspension and about 75% of the interior
I don't plan on going over 10 grand...on a mk1
I wish i knew what i got my self into before i started and bought somebodies project car that they spent alot of money on.
That sounds like quite a Polo how does it go getting power down - and what sort of 0-100 does it do?
Power down isn't too bad but at the end of the day it's still front wheel drive so standing starts aren't it's forte. Last time I checked a 0-100 it was around 6 sec so not much difference compared to a stock car - it's in the higher gears that you notice (and can use) the power. With a mate driving it ran 1:10.1 around Wakefield last year - it's a circuit that suits smaller cars but for comparison Warren Luff testing for Motor Magazine ran a 2008 WRX STI around the track in 1:10.2.
Nothing of the Polo in it's current stage (I just remembered I hadn't included the vinyl wrap in my mods list) but a few months ago before I ripped off the vinyl it looked like this:
It's now back to black waiting for me to figure out what colour to wrap it next.
I think I'm past/up to 100% of the purchase price on mine.
Have been told NUMEROUS times that I should have bought a common car (white good on wheels).
But I don't think I could ever go away from VAG cars now, addicted from less 2 years ownership
That 911 is gorgeous bigfoot, I take it you've owned it for a while going off the photo?
MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here* 80 series - The MK2's BIG, Sooty, polar opposite... HAHAHA
definitely past the 200% mark, and still not where i want it yet.
true ryan... i'm always getting told the amount of time and money i spend on my car, i could have bought a brand new one for the same price. i too am a VAG addict, wouldn't have it any other way
