It's not stated on their website about being a proxy for ECS. Have you done it before?

Thanks ryana89. I'll sus them out after I go through the bulk I ordered from eBay. Decent shipping price I assume?

If you go for the cheapest option (7-10 days?) it works out pretty well.

For bulbs use Powerbulbs. Free shipping world wide.

This is a forum, so I choose to make my comments available to fellow members, so no PM.

The Australian market is a drop in the ocean compared to say, US market, so maybe that is a contributing reason why we get raped on freight charges from some suppliers.

I recently bought Mk V OEM LED tail lights from TMTuning. The price was on par with ECS, but the freight from TMT was AU$64.37 and AU$195.70 from ECS.

Also bought a pair of underseat drawers from TMT. Price was AU$44 cheaper each than ECS. TMT freight was AU$54.74, but ECS wanted AU$168.

Guess which way I went. I don't even bother looking at ECS specials.

Yes shipping will be usually cheaper from Europe to Australia.

All packages shipped from ECS will come with a tracking number and insurance - to ensure the smooth delivery.

You can always link/add to cart without logging on.

We try to price competitively but, unfortunately sometimes we are not always the cheapest.

How do you explain that RolfGolf paid 3 times more for shipping than stated on his/her invoice?

I've purchased countless items from the US of A via Express Mail International and they've always cost around $35-50 with the items weighing around 1-2kg.

                    So what gives?

I buy plenty from the US and you are still ridiculously overpriced when it comes to exactly the same the shipping and postage options with exactly the same tracking and insurance benefits. For example Integrated engineering and usually sideways rally. Go to a small lightweight product like a set of Bosch 440cc injectors and have a look at the difference in shipping.

We are not disputing the price of your products which is the point you have tried to deflect to above. What we are sick of the blatant overpricing of you shipping costs on mostly small and light weight products. Have you even read this entire thread?

I'll admit I've been contacted about my post above by ECS. I'm not surprised, but think that the story I have is probably one of the most unfortunate experiences I've had in purchasing anything - overseas or otherwise.

I'm in the process of sending a reply to ECS and want to thank them for making the effort, but it really is too late I feel to change my likelihood of purchasing from them.

The point made above is true about us being small, but I'd say a $2,000 order is significant no matter where it's shipping to and should be treated with respect.

+1 $2000 or $200. Any seller worth dealing with should treat their customers with respect. This secretive behaviour of wanting to deal with issues via PM should send an alarm to potential ECS customers, particularly when their marketing is directed via a forum.

We would like to respect the customers personal information, if you feel the need to speak to the open forums that is fine too.
