  • One drink driver, two broken V Dubs

Driving home from work today, I had a drink driver smash pretty hard into the back of my work Caddy while I was stopped at traffic lights. That pushed me into a Mk5 GTI that was in front of me. The GTI got a stoved in rear bumper, and possibly a bent hatch. The Caddy is fairly well banana shaped having been the meat in the sandwich. It ended up being towed. The cops say the drink driver was 5 times over the limit. Everyone got out OK, although the seat bolstering gave me a numb arm after hitting the funny bone nerve, and I have some muscular whiplash.

I'm really disappointed as I like my Caddy. It was the prime reason I went and looked at and ultimately bought a Golf. The boss has a crappy old Liteace that I'll probably have to drive for a few months while something gets worked out with insurance.

Damn. I have been the meat in that sandwich (in a '70 Type 3 VW too) and it's not pleasant. I didn't think I was too bad until I was almost unable to sit up from my bed the next day.

I hope you're OK and that insurance handle the claim quickly. *fingers crossed*

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

yeah it's good to hear that you're safe and sound, that's the most important thing.

but damn, sucks to hear. the guy's gonna be hurting financially for a while, and rightfully so.
