After my experience with Barloworld lately, maybe VW would be wise to protect their brand a bit better.

Bring on VW stores run by VW. Perhaps there'd be openings for a lot of the people on this forum to join the staff as VW Geniuses.

Well, I'm not surprised that the things are as they're when in today’s world not many people don't want to pay for a good service and what is even worst, they're always looking for a bigger and bigger bargain. I saw H***d*i cars in the shopping center being on show and were presented by a hired staff, who didn't know anything about the next model from their range, the bloke said to me that he was just a hired consultant.

Yes you're very right, the market generally doesn't value service or knowledge and I'm not in the car industry but I imagine it's been a race to the bottom for a long time now.

On the other hand, there is no H***d*iWatercooled forum and, for the most part, Apple computers are not sold on price.

So, I reckon VW consumers might be a little different and like Apple consumers value good design, service and knowledge.
