It was hacked earlier this morning. Doesnt look like it was anything serious. Just the front page of the site taken down. The actual forum was still working fine

I have fixed the issue this morning and am still investigating what exactly it is that happened.

At this stage it looks like it was simply a new front page and that the forums themselves were not effected. I am still working on finding out what went wrong so we can prevent it happening in the future.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

A quick update. It seems the underlying vulnerability has been identified and patched by our host today. Great to see such a quick turn around from them

The same person/group is responsible for lot (and lots) of basically the same hack all over the place. Who knows where they really are located?

No, but send me your username, password and credit card details and I'll get right onto fixing it...

Should be pretty safe, groups like this that "hack" forums aren't generally very smart and are just exploiting known vulnerabilities. Generally they don't do much damage, its more about trying to show how cool they are and it lets people know that they should patch their code which is good in a way because it could prevent more malicious damage.
