Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

When my post was questioned, I looked for a source to show that my explanation is correct. Nothing more, nothing less.
I've driven a 2004 Mini Cooper S with a Sprint Booster... my opinion is why pay a few hundred $ for something that you can do yourself by moving your foot quicker. If our cars came with a button which did this, like some cars do, then great, but I personally wouldn't pay for this accessory. But that's my opinion... really has nothing to do with what I was responding to. Hope that's clear now...
And as for your comment that I “questioned your post” jesus who the hell do you think you are? Despite the fact that you quoted irrelevant technical rubbish to make yourself look good, I ignored this and said I appreciated your logic and then gave a real world analogy using the mouse pointer to explain how the sprint booster gives you better control because the car reacts quicker to your input whereas the OEM pedal is very lack lustre and conservative. The sprint booster offers a good balance between too much control and not enough.
I came on here to give an honest account of this device that I am actually using in my car and I even gave a real world example to try and explain my experience to those who would not understand what it’s like to use this device. Just because you drove a 2004 mini and don’t agree doesn’t mean you need to be a smart arse and quote technical bull**** to make yourself look good when in fact you have come across as an opinionated wanker.
We are talking about electronics controlling mechanics, digital controlling analogue, what happens on paper is irrelevant in comparison to the actual experience of using it. You’re obviously not interested so your opinion is not required here.

I think the Sprint Booster site words it best .. in that is says Sprint Booster is not for everyone.
Having looked at the site and read a little, I can't help thinking that the same result could be achieved with a $1.00 1/2 inch block of wood stuck to the accelerator pedal. Also if I want to brake faster I could do the same for the brake pedal as well :p
Each to their own though and if it is working for you 'zoneR32 then that is great!

Yet, you consider the actual Sprintbooster companie's "How it works" page to be quote "irrelevant technical rubbish"?
What does that say about the company and its product?

corey i think you should drive an R with a sprintbooster before you make a comment. you are entitled to your opinion and thats fine but I have one in my R and a GIAC flash and its fking fantastic. you can quote the website all u want but bottom line is you dont have one. i do
It does increase the intial acceleration but I wouldnt say that having a sprintbooster is the equivalent of mashing the pedal? It reduces the drive by wire lag and it and acceleration has more urgency and punchLast edited by stephen8512; 29-05-2011, 11:57 AM.

Or perhaps I'm wrong.
That's ok, I guess you know better than the 24 people on vwgolf.net that have placed an order for one in a group buy.

Btw, whilst it makes it feel like the lag has been removed when you put your foot down due to the change in the 100% position of the throttle, the opposite also applies. When you take your foot off the throttle, it actually introduces "lag" whilst your foot is coming back through the 100% to ~66% pedal position, which is made all "100%" by the use of the Sprintbooster.
I remember having a discussion on this previously and some people were making claims of it doing all sorts of things which it's not possible to do (like having direct effect on the ECU and DSG programming, which as you know it can't do, because it plugs in between the gas pedal and the existing wires, not further up the chain). Someone posted a link to a white paper on the device where the writer had produced logs of how it was working and the effects it was having, though I think they used Mercs. It really did back up what Sprintbooster themselves said it does and disproved the "additional things" that some Sprintbooster customers claimed it was doing. I thought it was in the MK6 section, but I can't find it now.
After that thread, I went out to find someone who had it. I couldn't find anyone I knew with a Golf who had it but a friend had a Mini Cooper S did. He also had the switch to turn it on and off. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the change it feel it provides (at least with the Mini) and I can see the attraction to it. To me it's just like the "M button" on a BMW M (if the owner has set the sports pedal response), or the SI button in a Subaru etc. I wish our Golf R's had a button like that from the factory. I just don't feel the need to spend US$330 for it. If others do, then that's good for them.

Does the same device sort out the molecular structure of fuel by aligning the molecules and save fuel? Or this an optional product?
A spring on the pedal would be more effective I'd think if people are having problems pushing the pedal down.website: www.my-gti.com

Sprintbooster say it. Hence why they say that it "does not increase Horsepower, does not reduce your 0-60mph times, DOES make your car 'FEEL' faster, is not for everyone."

It's all smoke and mirrors, you're not replacing the pedal, the pedal doesn't have problems with delays or this would be seen in the sprintbooster so apart from decreasing the range of the pedal (and thus reducing the control of the accelerator as you're reducing the accuracy by 33% by removing the final 1/3 of the pedal travel).

I love seeing customers feedback on products they have purchased and I encourage everyone to do so. I enjoyed reading your opinion on the product in your first two posts. I have simply responded to something which I believe is a factual inaccuracy in your third post because it goes against what the manufacturer of the device claims.
You have since taken offense to this (and maybe FJ Steve's "spoiling for a dust up" has inflamed it a bit more) but I am not trying to put you down, or anyone else that has purchased the product. I am not trying to discount your positive opinion of the benefit it's had in your car. And I'm quite happy to see that people have organised a group buy to benefit Australian VW enthusiasts.

I would like to formerly appolgise to PhilMart for an apparent verbal attack regarding a block of wood, I was a little fired up at the time.
As for the rest of you statistic quoting non-believers I am going to state here right now that my cars 0-100 times are faster as a result of this device, in fact my cars 30- 60 times are faster, in fact my cars (insert any velocity here) to (insert any velocity here) times are faster as a result of the pedal being more sensitive and reactive to input whch gives me A BETTER RANGE OF CONTROL OVER THE CARS MOTION (ACCELERATION AND DECLERATION).
Seriously I dont usually get so excited about mods especially to an na but go and borrow one (it takes 5 mins to install) and try it. And btw the group buy price is around the $250 mark which is not expensive given how much difference this thing makes.Volvo S60 RD T6

It seems more like there is a placebo effect occurring here, I get the same thing if I drive my wifes car and jump into the GTI afterwards.website: www.my-gti.com
