  • Novated lease paperwork out of control

I have novated several cars in the past (including a Jetta TDI), and am about to receive a new Golf GTI under a novation in late Feb. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the paperwork involved in novations/leases these days is inordinately cumbersome and voluminous! (I tried to pack in as many syllables as I could - just like the paperwork!)? S

Mine wasn't too bad... but then I work for the Government so maybe I'm just used to lots of forms so don't notice

...although I just went back and had a look and in my case it was ~25 pages , although that was produced by the lease company and I just had to sign a couple of places, initial each page (and of course read it ). There was a financial statement that was needed at the start, but that was only a few numbers on two pages.

So yeah, lots of paper, but not so many forms (that I had to fill in).

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

i have actually found the opposite. In my first few leases there was enough paperwork to fill one of those express post satchels completely. They sent everything to me etc with most in triplicate, sign here sign there etc then send some back.
now its all sent via email, print it out yourself and send it back signed... paperwork now comprises of about 20 odd pages.
probably depends upon who you lease through and what your company is like, coz they can both add paperwork into the deal.
