Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I finally get to see the Tig

You could go for another drive until around 4am when the tide is highest!
Or maybe go for a swim? lawl
You hadn't seen the Tig before then?

I probably will ride down to the river tomorrow morning at about 5am if I can get out of bed. If not, I'll be watching it from my bedroom (on tv).

      Nope, never.

Will be interesting to see what sort of damage gets done tomorrow.

I'm a little more worried about the clean up efforts and how long it'll take Brisbane to get back to how it was a month ago.

Lots of photos floating around the Intarwebbz lads, but here's a sample.

As you've seen, much of the CBD is now underwater, with Brisbane passing the first high tide testat 0400 today.

Here are some more photos I took this morning:

Old 1974 flood marker Vs 2011 AM peak level (~4.5m)

            River Loop, anyone?

How tall is Kochie? He looks seven foot there - or is Anna a midget?

Best Wishes to all Queenslanders - stay safe ... it's heartbreaking watching the footage, it really is.

Nearmap.com is a great site for seeing just how far the flood waters went inland.

I've spend the last two days at Oxley and all I can say is wow... As Bligh mentioned; it's a clean up of post-war scale. The sense of community and togetherness around Queensland at the moment is truly amazing!

Have a look at these before and after pictures. When they load move your mouse from right to left over the pictures.

It is amazing to see this stuff in real life. I really feel for the people who have been affected.
