Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

pity it ended up being a bit still born.

        Fantastic car though.

It wasn't a still born at all.

It was first built to be a Group B Rally car & competed with great success, but to qualify for FIA reg's, they had to build 200 of them, just like the Audi Sport Quattro's etc.

The short production run also made the price very high.

They did make them, but at a time when Ferrari also had the world beating F40 & Jad had the XJ220

Very hard to compete with that.

A bloke my brother used to work with told use some storie's when he went over sea's for training & drove them.

        Awesome!

Also the only car to win both Le Mans(1986, first in its class, 7th outright) and the 1985 Paris Dakar(1-2 finish)

              • That's nuts. Good on them for ''wrecking'' a perfectly good car. They made it better anyways

edit: OUCH!! Look at the back wheels!!! They're like...half a car's width, EACH and still ballooning lol

                              • This blew me away when I saw it, the car and the driver are just amazing. It is a video:
                                Ken Block Gymkhana practice

I didn't know if we were supposed to post video or not, I just thought some might appreciate this one. I did.
