Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

When I was a kid my neighbour used to have one. MrCossy or something along the lies was his plates. All I remember was seeing him come around a particular corner near our old place with a roster tail of gravel behind him thinking that was uber cool.

                      • when Ford release the Escort Cosworth turbo Mk 6, i absolutely fell in love with them. Unfortunately to own one in Oz would have cost around $80 - $100k and would have been a private import.

however, I did own a mk 2 RS2000 which was an absolute beast 260KW turbo - would do 0-100k in 4.5s and would have been quicker if I could overcome the wheelspin.

Nice ride. What turbo did it have? Nice choice in wheels too - same as mine

You don't know what axel tramp is untill you have driven one of them

It was a hybrid garrett T3/T4 setup.

I had a massive set of tramprods which did a great job of fixing axle tramp.

the wheels were great, only 13" though, but the 235/50's on it made it look like a steam roller
