Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

This may not be everyone's cup of tea but I'll post it up anyway.
I finally worked out how to upload video's onto youtube, so I thought I'd post some up of my old ute now that alot of time has passed.
Sorry for the poor quality of the video's as all I have left is some footage taken off the T.V. with my camera phone.
The original tape was lent to a mate who's girl friend ended up taping over the whole lot. 4 Hour's worth!!!Ths is still an understatement.
Please turn up the volume. This was one nice sounding 304.
Anyway. The first one is from the Calder Park National's. I went back to back national champion there for two year's running.
This one is from, well, you'll get the idea. I was drifting way back when in aussie muscle along time before drifting was heard of nor a sport here.
Also remember that this was my everyday street car for a number of year's & not just used as a weekender!

Thanks fella's. I'll try & smash a few head's together & try & get better quality video's.
The main thing I really liked about this ute out of everything.
I built it.
The complete engine, transmission, diff, fuel system etc top to bottom. The lot.
Now all the running gear is going into this project.
A sneak peek!! Still a fair way to go.

It does need painting though. The primer patch's were already on the cab when I purchased it. Paint color has been selected, but I'm still undecided.
I've been building this from scratch, & I mean scratch. It started life as a bare set of chassis rail's hanging from the shed roof by that rope you can see in the pictures in the back ground.
Then came the cab (which I had to convert RHD), then front clip & then the tub.
Every part has just about been replaced with new stuff, from the bumper's, grill, light's, door rubber's etc.
It's a bloody long process & I'm only at about the 60% stage.
I'm also not in a hurry to do another project like this.
If the money came along, I'd "like" to have it finished by the end of the year.
