One of the guys at work is trying to make a perpetual motion machine using magnets. I said while ever you have friction and any other resistance it won't work.. But he's hell bent on making it anyways... haha.

I used a perpetual motion machine as my new product in an innovation class at uni and the lecturer thought it was a great idea and would work.

I didn't have the heart to tell him about transfer of energy and loss's in a system and friction would make this not functional.
