i love good watches and wear mine everyday
I never check the time on my phone, thats what a perfectly good watch is for, plus they look good.

      Nice watch.
I've not actually worn a watch for a long time as I tend to wreck them but do use my phone to check time.

        hey gareth, nice watch!

i myself DO love that style of watch....

next watch i get will put my humble tissot back on the shelf, and the new one'll likely be a citizen/ casio with digital functions and an alarm clock! i found myself really missing that when i was in japan.

and when are you going to japan? how about you, team v? im gonna be hitting up rusutsu and naeba next year.

Beautiful watch Gareth. My kinda style too cant go wrong with a quality watch. I have been wearing Nixon watches for years and years. They are a lot cheaper than the premium brands but they are up there in quality wise in the Surf/skate scene. And I guess since I work at a skate/surf store Im obligated to wear a nice Nixon watch ha

                  you are absolutely right rocket.

In fact I was starting to wonder and get nervous about the 4 matt black, unmarked SUVs parked outside my house, but now its all starting to make sense!

I did some further digging, and learned from one of my CIA contacts that I'm actually no. 2 on the 'most wanted lists' of ATO, Customs, Interpol and the FBI. (i was no. 5., but this watch incident has just had me promoted!!)

and the SUVs are part of a multi-million $$, cross-jurisdictional operation to catch a menace of society like me and put me behind some serious bars for a very long time!!

now "gloating"? i think not, perhaps an attempt at humour? maybe. - i'd hope that more than one member has got a smile from my comments. It would appear that you wouldn't actually recognise humour if it slapped you in the face, so perhaps take the rocket out of your rear end, and do as golfman suggested and "lighten up FFS"

nixon's nice, but dont wear bling if you're gonna be snowboarding. my mate broke his wrist, his bling coming down onto his knuckles so hard that knuckle 2 and 4 smashed together and splintered his middle finger knuckle out of the socket.

so yeah, nothing to do with nixon, really, haha!

i love a nice metal bracelet metal cased watch. for some reason, though, i cannot end my yearning for a little alarm clock that goes ''beep beep beep''. im a simpleton.

oh, and gareth- im an ex scuba diver. 1000m = fugging WIN! people will question me on my logic, but other scuba divers would know that it would speak to the watch's quality.

rocket- im not sure if anyone's sorta... let you know, or anything, and not to be confrontational or anything, but sometimes, it almost seems as though you could potentially rub someone up slightly the wrong way.... but maybe not....

its been a pretty late season in terms of snow at perisher. i just came back from 6 days skiing and it has only really snowed in the past 4-5 weeks. on some days it was snowing but conditions were terrible i.e. windy and poor visibility. and on the day it was sunny it was 12° and things got slushy. not complaining tho as it was the most snow id seen in my 2 seasons of snow. cant wait to go back either and sort out my boot problems!!

                        Gareth,

Tony Abbott is right, we need to strenghten our border security to keep scum like you out!! You've got 30mins to get your things in order then i'm calling the people at DFS..i mean AFP!

Rocket, you've gotta take a holiday to somewhere with no interwebs...please, for our sakes!

Nice watch Gareth, lucky you got away with just a watch after those old ladies got a hold of you. I know of their kind!
Next you'll need to get this one: Multimedia Remote Watch | GeekAlerts
Tell the time and change the channel all in one..or annoy your mates/kids/wife by changing the tv without them knowing whose doing it!

Well, once again, Rocket has come along as the moral vampire and sucked the fun out of yet another thread...

I love Oris watches... When I got back from overseas last year and I had some disposable income burning a hole in my pocket, I had an internal debate as to why I shouldn't buy one of these or the Tag Monaco Steve McQueen Gulf Edition watch in Sydney... Needless to say, I just went backpacking around the world this year instead....

Actually it'd be Customs and the ATO, not the AFP.

Fun? Looked like a serious post to me. And knowingly signing a declaration that is false is illegal.

I was out with a bunch of friends yesterday and one of them has a partner who works for the ATO. I asked her, hypothetically, what action (if any) the ATO would take if they knew about this sort of thing.... Her answer was a little surprising as she was saying they take anything seriously when it comes to tax evasion and that I'd be amazed how even the smallest lead has seen their investigations team track down millions of dollars worth in tax illegally withheld from the govt. So joke all you want about it, they can and DO catch people.
