    Volkswagen Jetta 2.0TDI.
    51,000km'
No issues other than some delayed shifting from drive to reverse.

Even though I haven't had any problems with it yet, if the next car I get has the option, it's going to be manual. I'm sick of the DSG lag especially when taking off on a hill.

It's not terrible, but turbo-diesel lag + DSG lag doesn't make a good combination. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just the way it's meant to be.

Didn't you test drive the car before you bought it? That should've given you an idea as to whether it was bad enough to put you off it. The car I own drives exactly like the one that was at the dealership. Amazing how mass production works that way.

Ohh yeah I did. I guess at the time I thought it was ok. It's not like I'd sell the car for this, it's just something people should notice when considering the Diesel and driving it.

Yeah, fair enough. I'm just amazed at the ability of some people here to turn molehills into mountains.

Haha yeah, we love dramatising things . Hardly considered a mountain though - even though that's what I'm complaining about

On the other hand the diesel has a pretty narrow sweet spot so the DSG can make the best use of this.

Now now girls, let's NOT turn another thread downhill with talk that should be kept in the salon.

I absolutely love my car once it gets going. The torque gets me excited in more ways than one and the DSG changes at a blink of an eye.

On behalf of my father's car he's had no problems with the DSG in nearly 76,000kms on his MY07 GTI. That said the air-con has had to be regassed, the battery started to fail resulting in different modules working erratically, various interior bits have fallen off and had to be replaced and the drivers seat rear bolster is being replaced under warranty as well. There's also a nice rattle in the drivers door. I also think at least one door lock or window regulator had to be replaced as well. I'm just glad I convinced him to get the extended warranty for his last year of ownership because given the amount of issues we have seen with DSG I think it's well worth the $1400 it costs (if you go to the right dealer).
                      Cheers,

I thought it was pretty clear that this was a thread about whether or not you've had any problems and some fill in the blanks? Answer the question, vote, maybe some discussion about the problems or lack thereof.
Not a stupid argument slinging back and forth at each other.
                            Keep it on topic.
                            Cheers,
