I went through all of this when I bought mine, VW have been cutting back those companies they recognise for Corp discounts and changed the wording on the document. The dealer I went through even recommended that I use ACS and they have been removed as well

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

heh, I work for one of the Major Banks.. unless the car forms part of your salary package you can't get it.. the wording has all changed so it is just not being part of a Corporate but the circumstances by which you are employedCurrent Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

Victorian Dog Owners Accociation....... I mean come on, please..... you don't even have to own a dog and you used to get a discount.... Not anymore..
While the new system is far stricter it is definitely more black and white. Either you are retail or you are corporate....
In other words VW is simply applying the fleet owners discount criteria, that the other car companies have. - if you don't own a fleet you don't get a discount.mk VI GTI, manual, reflex silver, basic

Doctors and Lawyers often are not "corporate customers" either. So making statements like that does nothing but create discontent amoungst the ranks...
Personally I like the changes. It gets it back to what it should have always been. I've always worked for an eligible company, yet I've never been technically eligible because my car does not form part of my package. Yet the number of people who come on here and say that they got one just by mentioning some acronym and they didn't even have to provide any documentation - it's frustrating.
You're either corporate or you're not, and now it seems to be removing that grey area.Last edited by Corey_R; 11-01-2011, 11:41 AM.

As SilvrFoxX said, "if anything it is a wonderful sales tool for the distribution network" and secondly when it comes time to replace the GTI, then VW has already sent the message that certain buyers aren't as valuable as others and then we will have to see whether or not the Dealer cares to make up for the loss of corporate discount I got in the first place.mk VI GTI, manual, reflex silver, basic

I've been a member of PIA for 5 years now. I didn't join up just to get the discount, wasn't even aware it existed until the dealer brought it up.Audi S3. Sold

Today we received a Corporate Plus discount for my wife who is a Registered Nurse and is a member of ANF.
They had two choices of who to choose, her being a member of ANF or me working for a large IT company (but with no affiliations such as ACS). They chose her, which is fine.
After researching the forums etc and prior to test drives, the difference between receiving a reasonable discount or not was the choice between getting a golf or polo. However, after having test driven them both we didn't see the value (for us - seeing as we are both not overly tall or large people) of having the golf over the polo. Hence, we ended up buying a Polo at a cheaper price in the end.
I do feel that it's a bit mean that the well educated (who typically have more cashflow) get discounts and the less educated (likely not as well off financially) don't.Flash Red Polo 5dr 77TSi, DSG, Sports Pack, Comfort Pack, Audio Pack, Mats

(I worked at NAB before, am currently finishing a finance degree in Sydney) and have completed my financial planning qulification. Sorry for the self justification (Just so some don't think I'm an uneducated guy getting all defensive.)
I really think this discount is geared to those who feel they have done that little bit extra for the earth by joining a particular industry.. And it seems they pay for the privilege..2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |
