  • New TV - Vivo 32" LCD

My Wife was in hospital this week (all good now, just recovering) but prompted me to get a TV setup in the bedroom so she can follow doctors orders and rest up in bed. (that and she can go to bed and I can finish the movie/motor sport/cricket )

Just wanted something small (although huge would have been damn nice) so was looking at the 32" LCD's and found a brand called Vivo at D|ck Smith Linky. It's full HD 1920 x 1080, has a couple of HDMI ports as well as the usual complement of component and composite connections. It's on special at the moment for $599 which I thought was a bargain all things considered.

Add to that a Jaycar wall mount for $70 (Linky) and your all set. We had a spare BluRay player from which became redundant after I got a PS3 and snapped up an Apple TV on special and BAM, mini home theatre!

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Nice setup Aaron, the Vivo looks like a knock off Samsung LA32B450C1D!
For $599 thats damn cheap, and Full HD... not bad!

Will have to make sure The Good Guys (where I work) have something to compete with that as that is stupidly cheap

Apparently it's an LG panel. As for 32" around the price, they had a Sanyo for the same price or a slightly cheaper 1366 x 768 res model at $550, hell I considered Vivo 42" Plasma they have for $698, it looked OK in the store but with a res of only 1024 x 768 it has rectangular pixels. In reality it would probably be fine, but the full HD model just looked better (of course on a wall from across the room I think most people would be hard pressed to see a difference).

Stuck my head in JBHiFi as well, they have a Hisense 32" @ 1366 x 768 for $698 but really, $100 less and full HD? Why not

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Does seem like a damn good deal. We have nothing to compare to that for that price, think the cheapest 32" FHD LCD is closer to $1000.
The Hisense suck, good move not getting that

Kogan are doing some good stuff in the cheap and cheerful HD screen market too.

I've bought a couple of these lately and they're pretty good performers at a very competitive price.
