PR Codes

I have been aware of PR codes for nearly 20 years but yesterday was given a Car Data list for my recent T6 purchase [5 pages] If you give the Vin no for your vehicle to your dealer, they can print a list of all
the options that were fitted to your vehicle during manufacture. It also includes the PR codes that were not installed. I have found it useful so far.

As you are probably aware- the PR codes are also listed on the "vehicle identification data" sticker - see below.





But the listed items are only the PR numbers - so you need to look-up their meaning on decoding web site facilities. And, the listed numbers are ONLY the major build items. The PR-code information that is available on ERWIN is far more detailed and it includes even the handbook (which I understand is no longer provided on newer cars). However, ERWIN is a pay-for-service web-page.

Nevertheless, if you intend to get the repair manuals for this car from ERWIN and given that the minimum subscription period of 1 hour is far more time than needed - I suggest that you add the build-PR codes for your VIN to the list of download documents!!

I have checked the inside cover of my Service schedule booklet where there are 44 PR codes listed. The advantage of the printout from the dealer is every PR code no has the description listed alongside so
there is no need to search in a cross reference. The list I received had something like 160 codes listed so much more detailed.
