Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

not really practicle. Would just be annoying. Separate display on top of the tool trolly would be better as a reference. More likely to so something wrong when you can't see what you're doing properly.

And it will never stop dumbness. Even in that video he didn't re-install the intake properly (as per the instructions).

It's an interesting concept thats for sure. Agreed that small screen sitting on top of the workbench could do the same job, but if the glasses were setup right I think there could be some value.

I'd want them clear so they don't cut down on what you can see in darker corners. I would want to option to bring the display up and down, ie it shows you what to do then buggers off. Also they would want to be safety glasses as well.

Mind you all of this is a moot point ofr those of us that wear glasses anyway... since the heads up would be nice but I couldn't actually see anything else

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I'm with you Aaron, they'd make things impossible to look at underneath the car without lots of light! It is a cool idea though

u could probably do it without the dark glasses just some form of head up display overlaying a regular pair of glasses

It looks really annoying in my opinion.... I'd prefer a mechanic that knows what they're doing, not one that just follows instructions... even i could do that.

If you are using those glasses you shouldnt be anywhere near a car or tools.

Yup exactly - which is why it's great when there's a general section for anyone to post about anything.
