I have a small hifi setup, I really really wanna upgrade but alas my money tree was beamed back to its own dimension last week...

I've got B&W 601 S3 speakers, rotel pre & power amps, a denon dvd 2930 dvd player, xbox 360, a sony 36" crt, a nad tuner and a strong STB. It's a neat little setup.

I'd love to add some mid-range floorstanders, a Stello DAC and some nicer amps, something like Bel Canto or Krell. Sigh... one day!!

      Nothin special and quite old.

Technics SH-EH60 Processor with a SA-EH60 5 channel Amplifier, pair of kenwood 100watt tower speakers and a single 100watt technics center speaker.
All hooked up to my computer. I cbf hooking it up to the 360 and tv. I didnt bother with the other 2 speakers as my PC doesnt put out 5 channel sound. Makes for some very loud porn.

I updated my setup in January to a nice 46" LCD and a Yamaha RX-V863.

I'm still using some crappy Sony speakers but am patiently waiting till I can afford something bettery. Eyeing off some speakers from Aaron HiFi for two reasons. 1. They sound awesome and 2. Who doesn't like their name on their speakers!

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Couldn't care less what my parents have down in the lounge room...all I know is that it's all samsung, and the stereo sounds good for movies and the TV is nice and big - oh and I helped build the floating shelves for it lol.

I've got a little Sony Hifi in my room, cost me $370 of my hard-earned back in the day and it's the strongest most powerful yet crisp hifi i've ever heard music come out of inside a house.

If we're gunna talk about bedroom shiz, I've gotta Yamaha RDX-something in mine. I'm not a massive fan of it actually, been wanting to upgrade it to an Arcam Solo but all I do is sleep in my bedroom so I doubt it'd get much use!

good thread - im after a new amp and speaker setup at the moment. wont upgrade from the 1080p 50 inch Samsung Plasma until I can get the same in OLED (yes that's different to the current LED TVs). Current home theatre setup is a Sony 5.1 1000w job so not ideal.

But what I was thinking for my amp upgrade was a Yamaha. Probably the RX-V1900. Although open to other people's suggestions around the $2500 mark. Not sure about speakers though. Regarding speakers, what do people think about B&W?

                              Of course, I could dream...

Allthough I do want a decent home theatre room one day... Something like this (with different colours).
