Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. Interesting paint and mesh. Mesh looks overdone, so does the paint but its obviously experimenting.
Were you playing with overlays of the layers or ??
Your selections are so much crisper/smoother than mine, I normally use the lasso. Anothger tool?

Also, I have never gotten a bg change right ?? Any tips?

PS> I actually thought the "duckbill" was brushed on the modified one before i looked back at the original haha

I couldn't get the mesh to look right so i just gave up on it.

The paint is a green layer set to multiply on the yellow base to give a pearly look.
Took inspiration from the commondore colour which is a yellow/green pearl.

The original image was 3000pixels wide so a larger initial image is much easier to get better selections with.
Otherwise i just use the polygonal lassoo tool and keep the distance between selection points small.
The prefered method is to use the pen tool but i never got how to use it and i only really do this to pass the time.

The background change requires the car to be cut out and copied ontoa new layer with all of the original background removed.
you also have to remove the original background from the car windows.
Then you just paste the new background in a latyer under the copied car layer and it will show up as the new background.
Just add some shadows and reflections from the new background and it's done.

      Thanks for the reply.

Ahh i see, could you have filled the mesh into a higher res layer, compressed (resized) and c+p to your image? Get it "denser".

Hmm i need photoshop again haha.
Want to have a good go at this again....

At a quick glance it looks pretty good, especialy for a first, but then you see all the bits that need fixing.

I think the mesh needed to be less contrasted and have some shadows put on it (which i forgot to add)
Alternatively i could have just added horizontal bars like the original but i was going with mesh to allow air flow.

hey team v, have you got any tips on trying to achieve a Sepang Bronze colour change on a silver car. It's a BMW colour:

                Onto this?

Sorry, been out of the country since new years.

I use the [image > adjustments > variations] menu to do colour changes, it allows for a great degree of variation.

Alternatively you can use other methods in the [image > adjustments] menu which will allow it to be done.

I will have a go at it tonight after work.

Did this quick one with the image > adjustments > variations
However you can also try image > adjustments > photofilter

Does anyone have any straight-on side (left or right facing) and straight-on rear pics of a Reflex Silver Golf 6 ?

I want to pre-design some signwriting for the car and trial out the personalised plates with mockups before I pay someone to do it for me - but can't see anything online.

                      PS - I don't have the car yet, that's why I'm asking !
Currently driving 2014 Jeep Cherokee - looking at the 2017 Tiguan 162TSI Highline (Habanero Orange) !

No problems, it was just a quicke, took about 2 minutes.

I am not a fan of brown/bronze on any car really.

Been working on this on and off since about October, when the car was first announced. So there was only a handful of low-res media pics to work with so naturally, I did the only thing you could do, blow it up a bit and do an entire re-brush. Consequently, there's not too body mods, what has been done has been done subtle, and instead I focused on the re-brush and changing the lighting. Wheels weren't brushed, nor the background (bit on the low-res side sorry). But everything else was.

First piece I've done in yonks, but I think I ironed out most of the rust during its production. It's still a bit buggy though.
I had a really cool version with the blue channel hidden, so the whole thing had a heavy green tinge, but when PS saves jpegs it ignores the channels

                                Not bad at all.
Just need to add some more highlighs and shadows to give definition.

I did one of these as well as a full re-brush.
