I saw that on the news, what a horrible thing to happen. How fast would they have been going to split a car like that in half though, crazy people.

According to the news report it was a female Korean student that was driving. If you recall a few weeks back there were also two Chinese exchange students racing on the M4(?) who both totaled their cars at speed in excess of 150.
