Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I joined the forum in '06, just after buying my new Mk5 Golf in Dec '05 that I still own today. My first VW ownership was
a 1958 beetle [The first with the big back window] that I purchased in late '61 for around 500 pounds.
I will be 81 years in a few days time with still a strong interest in VAG cars & vans. I wonder if there is anyone older than
    me on here.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

Still here, still generally playing with old clunkers.

My bora (first car) that got me on the page only went to scrap 2 years ago.
Partner has been through a 6n polo, CC Passat TDI and we had an Up! on loan for the better part of a year.
Vento is still here, Mk4 wagon is currently our beach/grocery getter/around town car and I recently added a Touareg to the mix due to the KM I was doing for work.
          Bora gone
          Vento VR6
          MKIV GSW TDI
          7P Touareg TDI

At least the back yard stays true to form. Love the MK1's.
