  • Which VAG wagon to get?

Octavia vRS 169TSI, MK7.5 R, Audi A4 B9 Quattro or as a wildcard an older 8R SQ5? I had shortlisted a 206TSI Passat, but they didn't have Dynaudio as an option until after 2018, so I've excluded them.

My preference is the B9 Quattro as it has the nicest interior. However, the other options seem quite viable as well.

It will complement a modified BMW M140i, so being fast/fun is not a must have feature.

The 8R SQ5 is a beast (so much torque and just effortless acceleration) with a very reliable engine and gearbox/drivetrain, but compared to the other much newer options, it will feel dated. It is a very solid and well built car though. You can upgrade the whole infotainment screen to a larger one and have Carplay/Android Auto for $1k which does wonders for modernising the interior. If you do go this route, find a 2014-2015 model which dont have AdBlue - the AdBlue systems in the late 2015-2017 models are all starting to fail in the SQ5's and will cost you a small fortune (unless you get the car remapped and coded out). The most important thing to consider with the diesel, is that they do not like short trips and lots of idling. So unless you regularly do 30+ minute drives at 80+kph then do not get a diesel as you will have issues with it (its all the emissions stuff that plays up such as the DPF and EGR if they dont get longer drives to heat up)

The Octavia is huge inside (my brother has owned several as work/least cars), and im sure the Audi would be of a similar size. The Golf wagon is still a decent size but not the same as the Octy/Audi.

Also dont forget the Cupra: https://www.drive.com.au/reviews/202...l-first-drive/

Driven both a 7.5R and RS245. I really like the Octavia, even though I have managed to get a decent deal on an R. I definitely prefer 2wd to awd.

      Can't decide what to do!
