I've trawled the internet, but can't find any links to firmware updates for VW stereos. Like any of them! I've got a 2014 Amarok and wanted to update the firmware of the sat/nav stereo as I think that's why I can't get any SD cards to work, hoping a firmware will fix this. I phoned my local VW dealer and they were clueless, the woman I spoke to in the service dept kept on thinking I wanted to buy a new stereo, eventually I got through to someone who sort of understood and he said I had to buy a VW SD card with the update that cost $500... that can't be right.

What unit have you got? Is it an RNS510?
If so what firmware version is it running?
Might have to take your trawler in for a service, plenty of info here:
