Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

According to some reports lots of brands are going to discontinue releasing diesel-powered vehicles in Europe , apparently the commercial range will be the first to change . To me its about time VW have gone down that road with too many diesel models and its not been the best road either , they have for many years had petrol turbo models in Europe but for some reason Australian buyers have been deprived of the option . Both our diesel powered vans have had issues with reliability Turbo's going to lunch after only 100000 kays DPF problems with later versions and various other components that are fitted to diesel models . And by the way my 2005 T5 was a rare model fitted with a 2.0 non turbo petrol and guess what over 325000 kms and its still going strong ! . Over the 14 years its had only two sets of plugs one set of plug leads and gets water pump and timing belt every 100000 , cat converter got "modified "a few years back and gave the van a new lease of life. During the same 14 years our 2005 T5 2.5 diesel had multiple failures with turbo failing / intercooler failure and [ premmy water pump failures not really the diesels fault ]and it had only covered 100000 before we sold it . Then our new 2012 model has had issues with diesel related problems which will be rectified without VW intervension .Last edited by Sunny43.5; 14-06-2018, 08:08 PM.
