Thought it time to start a members ride thread!
This is my MY09 MkV GTI.
    • Candy White
    • Leather
    • Sunroof
    • DSG

I bought it in February 2014 from Sydney and drove it back to Adelaide. This are some the dealer photos:

The first thing I was forced to do was remove the tint to get it registered here in SA! So the tint was removed on Friday, approved registration Friday afternoon and the following Monday had 18% tint applied all round again

This is how it sat for pretty much the first 6 months, then I started to get itchy feet about changing wheels/tyres
As you can see the previous owner seemed to use the kerb as their parking aid and the wheels really annoyed me. I toyed with changing the wheel colour to hide it to black:

but the whole black on white has been done to death. So I browsed forum for sale posts for along time, before I finally got hold of a set of OEM Karthoum Alloys - 18x8. Fitted with 235/40/18 KU39 tyres this morning, this is how it sits now:

Next up is a Delphi RCD510 & 9W2 Bluetooth unit.

More to come after the HU install

So the headunit upgrade is done. I bought a Delphi RCD510 out of China ($150), along with an OEM 9W2 Bluetooth kit ($90), all for the grand sum of $240AU delivered! >D

The Delphi unit does has some differences to the Bosch unit, predominant difference being the delphi has no DAB radio reception, and a minor button layout difference, but apart from that I can't say I can notice much difference to my friends Bosch unit.

But for about 1/2 the cost of the bosch unit, and having the USB input direct to the HU (not needing the media centre addition the Bosch does for iPod) its awesome! Also unlike the OEM RCD500 when using an MP3 disc, it would not display the info on the dash. But with the RCD510 I now get audio info (title/artist) on the MFD. Nice little surprise i wasn't expecting

Also with the 9W2 Bluetooth I have both full functioning OEM hands free (which pauses music on the HU also) and also have audio streaming from the phone if I choose (but tend to use either USB or iPod for music).

Good upgrade man. When you get a chance, change GTi to GTI.

      My OCD is going crazy.

            So some recent purchases:
OEM suspension with 7,000km (as my shocks are now 100k+ time for a refresh)

            and then
            H&R Sport Springs: Part numbers: 29176-1 VA (F) and 29176 HA (R).

Should end up with a nice little drop (around 30mm), and more precise handling once fitted in around a month
