same thing as above, but I think Jrads had some slope to it. Which I liked, as I have a fear of square things like that (subframe in my case) getting hooked up on something and being clean ripped of rather then sliding over the bump

Yeah I get what you mean. Initially I was thinking of having it sloping over the front although then the issue is access to all the bolts to attach the pan.

All this talk makes me more motivated to get off my arse and do it. Will have to go hunting for some scrap sheets of metal and bring out the welder.

yea, pretty much.

I did do that slop bit for the same reason dyl mentioned. Was afraid that it would tear the thinner sumper steel if you hit the thick plate "front on", hence I got that angled piece to hopefully 'slide' it over.

Probably could have done the drain plug section better. That's the lowest point, so it got a bit of a bashing over speedhumps mainly. There are lots of different designs but I was pretty happy with this one.

Just for reference, I took this pic approx ~1 week after it was installed, after our road trip to GAD. Good times.

Cool thanks Jarred! Yeah that little bump where the sump plug goes in was flat on the last sump. Current one isn't that old although half the hex on the plug has vanished.

VW NATIONALS!



Gave the front end a makeover with some smoked Hella dual rounds and black slats on the grille with the smoked indicators / dummy and removed vr6 badge



Debadged the 'golf vr6' and got a Hella all red heckblende to match the Hella all red tail lights to give the rear something different and some 90's flavour



Here's a pic of my boot setup for anyone interested. Still need to clean up the wiring, install compressor killswitch and would also like to get the battery relocated into there. I have a false floor that slides in over it all for practicality so I haven't lost too much boot space.



The specs for my air setup is:
Dual viair 400c compressors
5 gallon tank
Autopilot v2 digital management
1/4" lines
Airlift struts front and rear

Will hopefully go out and get some better pics of the new look soon.

Had some more fun with pinching airlines between body and rear beam because I put the stockies on so the wheels aren't stopping it from getting low.


Cut out the pierced line and rigged up this little guy to piece it back together until I can grab more on the weekend.

Was surprised that it actually drove aired out. On the d90s the the guards sit on tyre and it goes no where.

Those hose to hose connecters would be ideal to have spare in the boot encase something happened on a long trip away from base

Just a few questions about the air setup:

Do you find the 5 gallon tank allows you enough play time or are the compressors kicking in too often?

How long does it take to fill from your cut in psi with the two compressors?

Which reseller did you buy the kit off?

And finally, are you going to engineer it or fly to the sky when the po po arrive?

5 gallon tank seems to be a fairly standard size. I suppose it's a compromise between space and usability.
If I'm aired out and then lift it the compressors do kick in. Is a little annoying because they're so loud.
I haven't timed it but if you go on the viair website they have specs for fill times for each model.
Got the kit off ECS as it ended up cheaper than bagriders although not as much choice in gear. If you read above though there was a lot of hassle.
Haven't really looked into engineering, I can only imagine it being a massive headache. I think if I'm not stupid about it though there shouldn't be any problems.
