Hey fellas, thought I'd make up a thread for my white 1994 mk3 vr6. Some of you are already familiar with the car as it was previously owned by Bima (mrVR6exy) another form member and a top bloke! Wasn't actually in the market at the time but had met Bima previously and loved this car so when I saw that he was looking to sell I jumped on it.

Probably the two most noticeable modifications made to the car prior to my ownership are the mk4 gti recaro seats front and back (my favourite thing about it) and some fk coilovers. Am very happy with the car as it's been maintained to a high standard meaning everything works (ac, heater, airbags, abs, all power windows) which can't be said for a lot of mk3s

This is pretty much what it looked like when I bought it.

Throw some Porsche D90 wheels on, wind the coils down a little, got some white plates and this is what it looked like when I went down to Melbourne for ILV SummerSun2013 show. (thanks for the pics Ray and Lee)

Either I didn't upload enough pictures or people need to adjust they're monitor settings and get their eye's checked.

P.S. I definitely uploaded enough pictures. (I know H is taking the piss )

Recently got some brand new Hella all red tailights and installed airlifts autopilot v2 air suspension kit. Had a few issues leaving me in awkward positions one being yesterday morning leaving home at 9am for the ALL STARS 'stance off' show at Silverwater park when my exhaust made contact with my rear air line burning a little hole in it and consequently dropping its arse at 110 on the freeway. Safe to say there was a lot of tyre burning smoke flowing out the left rear guard as I pulled over very suddenly (apologies to camry driver behind me).
Luckily my girlfriends dad came and got me with the car trailer (only just fit with the wheel widths, now have yellow trailer paint on my lips) and a couple hours later ran a new line with some more protection (exhaust wrap / braided hoses) and made our way back down again. Arrived around 2pm as a lot of people were leaving (was meant to be there at 11).

Before that though have had many other issues. First was that I received the 1/4" setup for my system when I ordered the 3/8" which is super annoying considering the amount of money I spent on bringing it all over here from the states. Still currently talking to the vendor on resolving the issue as they wanted me to post back the item which would cost me yet again postage and import tax on their stuff up (no thanks) and I'd have to install old suspension and wait for new parts to arrive... Hopefully getting a store credit for all the hassle.

Other major issue was about a week after installing the system I turned off the driveway to go to work and my front right dropped out and wouldn't lift. I had to slam the car back up onto the grass out front and walk to work to deal with it later. Issue ended up being that the bag had rotated with the fitting wrapping the line around the strut and pulled it out. Ruined my guard lining tring to drive at 0psi to get it back into the garage after work to be able to take wheel off jack it up and plug it back in.
After researching the issue and contacting some of the other fellas that have had the air lift struts it turned out to be a common problem. Fixes included a custom fabricated bracket and welding the bottom of the bag perch to the strut. So out came the welder and all seems to be ok. I sent a very detailed email to air lift about the problem with links and pictures as its a bad product design considering I found at least 6 other cases of the same issue. Haven't got a reply yet 8 days later.....

Apologies about all the text but maybe it'll help someone and it's my thread so i can rant if I want to

Thanks to Hayden and Matt for helping install the system and to Jose, Ray, Lee and Alex for putting up with all my questions, swear words and bitching when things weren't going to plan.

Nationals this weekend! Still have a few little bits and pieces to put on before then.

How did you get Porsche wheels on there?

Oh your GF is a keeper if her old man has a trailer.

Cheers Woodward! Yeah Ray said Stu had similar problem so I hit him up and he said to weld it. So that's what we did! Least mine only happened out the front of the house.

In my Tafe holidays they also let me clear out a garage at the GFs place to store tools, wheels and parts / work on the car (where I installed the air). Don't get Hayden started on how good I've got it and yes the trailer is a big bonus!

Yep heard all these problems before about MK3s on air ride - ask VDubin about his experiences too.

Yeah also contacted Reece when I contacted Stu. He had rigged up a bracket to stop the bag from spinning however it looked more complicated so just welded them up. Hopefully all the teething problems are in the past now. Drove about 250kms on the weekend for the show and friends houses seems to be ok. Don't want to jinx myself though.. Pretty poor though that after Reece and I have contacted Air Lift we haven't heard back from them and they haven't altered the product to fix the problem.

Yeah man it sucks - I'm going to go G.A.S when I eventually go bags. I figured if the Germans can make awesome cars then their air struts would be pretty awesome too.
