Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

More pics will come later on.

I got my P's last tuesday. Dad bought the plates about a week after he got the car. The plates where about $350 or something.

The Mk1 still has a lot more to go, the interior only has the roof lining done and the seats are temp so we could drive it to the new house. All that has been done on it so far is the roof, respray, dash respray and central locking. I was going to be my car but i swaped dad for the mk2. Always been an mk2 man. The mk2 needs to be lowered and suspension fixed. Wheels are coming soon aswell as little bits like lights and stuff. Mechanicly its good, little squeeks and noises i want to inspect and fix. Paint isnt crash hot but gave it a decent cut and polish. Has been keyed down the left side . Previous owner repsrayed the rear bumper very badly so its not textured anymore. Mainly little things on the mk2 that need fixing. Mk1 is a project.

Trying to be handy with the camera.......didnt work.

Ive got 40mm lowering springs sitting in the guarage, not that low but a vr6 chin is going on, scrape? and wheels are on there way. I want to get the tail lights done and that will be it untill i get more money. Rego expired today aswell. Ive got a masive BMW MAF sensor and Audi 5000 over board throttle body coming next week, then chip if there is any change left over.

Im looking to upgrade to european spec extractors or down pipe. What ever is restricting power from the normal 83kw.

I havnt had a proper drive in the car till today.

Can't realy say what happens coz dad reads this forum too, but I am realy amazed by the handling. Realy makes up for the lack of power.
