Hey i didnt realise that you could get those "Detroit" style rims on the Polo? Are they a factory option these days or did you get them aftermarket?

Dont forget to give the engine a good workout (don't baby it) during the first few hundred km's to bed the piston rings in.

Hey Lucas. The detroits are stock now on the MY13 Polo GTI's. They look so much better than the denvers. I have been giving the car a good thrashing when I can. It's been tough with a double demerits long weekend

It's the stupid bluetooth touchscreen thing that comes with the car. I'm actually going to remove it and get a Bury universal cradle so I can use it for my phone instead. No idea why VW keep installing these things when they are completely pointless.

Thanks man. I'm very happy with it so far.

I'm planning to do some cosmetic mods but that's about it. I've been burnt in the past with a serious lemon and now I'm nervous about doing anything that might jeopardise my warranty. I was initially thinking about some new rims till I actually saw the Detroits on it so think I will keep them for now. Got a new set of plates on order in black with red characters and eyeing off a couple of engraved cover buttons from carstyle4you and new floor mats with GTI logo. Longer term I'm thinking of a new body kit like the Rieger one but I would have to get that past the wife which will be a very tough sell

Congrats on the purchase Proximak- the 6R Polo GTI is a beautiful little pocket rocket. Those Detroit alloys looks really good, about time those old fashioned Denvers get put back up on the rack.

Thanks robbie. I'm thinking I might get the middle muffler removed like a few of the others. Will have to see how we go.

Hey mate. Car looks unreal! - I've got the same external options but in Candy White (...and just the cloth trim inside) I'm picking it up tomorrow so very excited...

Do you know how hard is it to replace that stupid Bluetooth thing? I also want to replace it with a good universal phone cradle and that way I can also double my phone as a Nav....

That is outrageous if true! VW can't turn a blind eye to the biggest smartphone in the world surely?
