I have FK streetline coilovers on my bora and they go pretty low. I bought them from esctuning and they ride pretty good, they're on sale right now for 500ish and postage to canberra was 200ish. Then had cvwc put them in for me for 200ish, but they also replaced bushings etc and put in an aftermarket sway bar in (which you will need when lowering your car more then 1.5inches) for corrective driveshaft clearance.

        Volkswagen Jetta IV 2.0 > Suspension > Coilovers > ES#250775 Street-Line Coil Over Kit - SMVW8005KT

I have mine wound down all the way at the moment - have to admit I try to avoid all speed humps and slanting driveways and have to be careful if I do because my front valance hangs low.

if you want a quick solution i have some lowering springs (think h&r) that came off my car before I put the coilovers in. they were on the car already before i bought it but the guy who sold me it was a noob and when i asked he said no, but it looked lower then stock height. Have no idea how long they were on the car beforehand but I was on them for a year before I changed. You could have them for free if you want, they're just sitting in my garage doing nothing, probably halve the wheel gap you have now.

Defiantly go for coilovers straight up, I have the cheapest around. I paid 400 for my hottunings
Yeah they are pretty stiff and the ride isnt great. But for what I want they do the job. And like everyone says "you get what you pay for!" If I had more cash I would go for a good set of KW's. Or really I want bags, but meh. Although yeah it depends how low you want to go. If you want to go pretty low, you'll have to either cut your swaybar or go aftermarket. And if you go Suuuper low, you'll need to get a frame notch(which I am in desperate need of)

Also if you are able to pull things apart and put stuff back together you should save a heap of cash and do the install yourself.
Have a read through this, it's pretty informative.
